What’s WannaCry Ransomware Attack?
You must have heard either from the news or friends that over hundreds of thousand of computers were hit globally by the ransomware cyberattack called “WannaCry”, which the group behind the attached claimed was via a vulnerability stolen from the United States National Security Agency. And China is among the worst hit countries.
The WannaCry ransomware, as its name suggests, is a kind of virus that hold files on one’s computer hostage until the user pays the amount asked for decrypting files encrypted by hackers. While we’re shocked about how hackers can carry out an attack of such a large scale, we’re also pondering how it is possible.
It takes advantage of the vulnerability in older Microsoft Windows operating systems as some users are reluctant to install the latest security update, which leaves computers vulnerable for any attack.
How Can You Get Your Files Back?
Although we do not recommend paying the ransom for gaining access to your files, as it funds more criminal activities and would, in a way, encourage further attacks. However, there’re some other ways to get your files back.
While the virus was sweeping across the global, engineers with SalvationDATA were working around-the-clock in the hope that we would find the solution by studying how they encrypted those files.
And we’re very glad that the effort paid off. Through hours of study, we found that the files, if smaller than 1.5MB, encrypted by hackers were first deleted, then a new file is generated with encryption, which means that we can get those files back by recovering deleted files.
However, if a file is larger than 1.5MB, the file was partly encrypted, but we can still recover the rest that’s not encrypted. Either way, the file is recoverable with our specifically designed software for WannaCry ransomware infected files.
And we’re excited to announce that the software is NOW ready FOR FREE!
Please click HERE to get it now.
And when you get it, please follow the steps below to recover your files.
Step 1 Software Installation
Step 2 Select Installation Path
Step 3 Launch the software, then enter Data Recovery interface
It should be noted that the data source should be original hard drives
Or prepared image files.
After that, check the partition where the files needed for recovery are stored.
What’s shown below is the recovering progress.
Now files are recovered successfully, you can choose files needed and save it to local disks.
What Should You do If You’re Not Infected?
Though we have solution for getting your files back, it is still recommended to take precautions in the first place to prevent your computers being infected.
1 Keep regular backups of important files
2 Install Microsoft updates
3 Avoid opening any unknown links and attachments
4 Install up-to-date anti-virus software
5 Disable network connection
